SEQUAL is a values-driven, not-for-profit, company limited by guarantee that was formed in May of 1999. SEQUAL began as a response to an identified need of young adults with high and complex support needs who were living at the Halwyn Centre, Red Hill. Our early days were solely focused on providing supports to some 48 people who called Halwyn home.
From the beginning SEQUAL has valued the input of family and family involvement has and will continue to play a significant role in how we deliver our supports. It was strong feedback from some families in 2017 that lead SEQUAL to partner with housing developers to build our first purpose built homes for people with complex and significant disabilities. These projects lead to significant growth for SEQUAL and we are deeply proud of the work that we do in this space.
Our executive and administration team provides oversight, support and guidance to over 120 staff who share the commitment to improve the lives of the people that choose to use SEQUAL for their supports.
SEQUAL is no longer the small grassroots provider that we once were, the introduction of the NDIS and people choosing our services has meant that we have grown and evolved into a much larger service that is able to support people with disabilities in a range of settings and support types.
